The new carbon boom versions are now shipping!
This is the final production version of the Mosquito Hawk.
It weighs 3.6 oz. with a sub micro receiver 2 CS-20 servos, and
a 50 mah. battery pack. It thermals very well and is very maneuverable.
I have flown it in 15 mph. gusting winds and been completely in control
due to the pitcheron configuration. It will snap roll in the blink of an eye
and is a blast on the slope too.
These are all "mosquito class" hand launch gliders.
The class has a wing span limit of 29.5" (750mm)
The average weight is between 3.5 to 6.5oz.
Unfortunately
beginners are attracted to these planes.
Mosquitoes
are NOT
for beginners,
unless you have close help with the construction and first flights!
The best thing about them is the ability to walk out in your front yard
and go flying. I keep one with me all the time and fly it in
very tight areas.
This is the pod for the "Mosquito Hawk".

I have only made 5 of these planes and they have been through
more abuse than I ever thought possible. I can't imagine having
a mosquito class plane that is fragile. It would totally defeat the aspect
of flying anywhere. I have bounced these planes off of every tree, car,
house, light pole, etc. in my neighborhood and the only damage that
occurred was broken solder joints on my battery when I was learning
how to launch it, and I had to make new tail panels after repairing
cracks with CA too many times. Most of the tail damage was caused
by botched catches or sliding under cars.
The Mosquito Hawk kit is currently
$50.00
